Experimenting with Photographing Metal
If there’s one thing I’m lacking in photography (and by "one thing" I mean thousands of essential skills that I’m missing) it’s proper lighting skills. I’ve been reading up on lighting and thought I’d try some fun stuff with reflective metals. This is my high school class ring . . . and tassel. That 98 might as well be 1898. It’s a Jostens classic with a faux alexandrite gem. The color changes from this deep purple to a more reddish purple to almost green depending on the light. It’s not my birthstone (which is Garnet, *snore*) but it’s pretty.

I guess it’s appropriate that the corporate jet for Josten’s (the company that makes all those class rings) has the tail number "N24KT". Seen at the Weschester County Airport in White Plains, New York.
